Terms of Service
Effective from 8 August 2026.
1. Who we are & accepting these terms
Sprakly is a personal language-learning service built by the Sprakly team. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Sprakly. Questions: info@sprakly.com.
2. The service
Sprakly helps you learn languages through reading, listening, vocabulary practice, and short lessons. It is currently in closed beta, is free for participants, and is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Features may change, pause, or be removed as we develop the product.
3. Your account
You sign in with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for all activity that takes place under your account. One account is for one person; do not share it. You must be old enough to consent to data processing in your country (in the EEA, this is generally 16, though your country's law may set a lower age of digital consent).
4. Acceptable use
When using Sprakly, you agree not to:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
- upload content you do not have the right to use, or anything unlawful, hateful, or harmful;
- scrape, resell, or bulk-extract the service, or try to reverse-engineer or disrupt it;
- overload the service or abuse the shared beta resources (for example, AI features) beyond normal personal use;
- attempt to access other users' data or the admin area.
5. Your content
Texts you upload and messages you write remain yours. You confirm you have the right to use any text you upload. You grant Sprakly a limited licence to store and process that content solely to provide the service to you (for example, to translate, read aloud, or build your vocabulary), as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising.
6. Our content
The Sprakly app, its lessons, generated audio, text, design, and brand are owned by the Sprakly team and provided for your personal, non-commercial learning use. Please do not copy, redistribute, or resell them without our permission.
7. Third-party providers
To operate, Sprakly relies on established providers (hosting, database, translation, and speech services). They are listed, with their roles and privacy policies, in our Privacy Policy.
8. Not professional advice
Sprakly is an educational aid. Learning content and any informational videos or explanations are provided for general learning and may contain simplifications or errors. They are not legal, financial, medical, immigration, or other professional advice. For decisions that matter, consult a qualified professional.
9. Payments
The service is free during the beta, and we do not collect payment information. If we introduce paid plans later, we will make the terms clear before you are charged, and these Terms will be updated accordingly.
10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Sprakly is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data, or issues caused by third-party providers or by use of the service contrary to these Terms. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Norwegian law.
11. Suspension & termination
You may stop using Sprakly at any time and request deletion of your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service, break these Terms, or put the beta at risk.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. For material changes we will notify active beta participants before the changes take effect. The current version is always available on this page.
13. Governing law & contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. For anything related to these Terms, contact us at info@sprakly.com or via the support chat in the app.
